      To say that Kagura and him didn’t get along would be a false assumption made due to one single obversation. A layer of respect had been existent between the two sword wielder for a long time and they had successfully held mutliple conversations in the past – and it was of importance to note that not every single one of those conversations had been ones an impersonal basis, either. A lack of respect or even dislike was an inaccurate word to describe the bond they shared.

      There had merely always lingered something around them that… repeatedly caused them to clash. The ensuing issue was never something too serious and nothing that ever created true harm to any of the two parties, however.

                                                 Just like right now.

      Upon feeling the not so subtle touch when Kagura walked past him, Freed sent a glare towards her he didn’t attempt to conceal. Not like she was currently looking back to perceive it anyway, but it was the natural expression his facial features got tugged into in an instant. The woman must have noted his previous reaction to what she’d said – and in his book this very reaction had been entirely justified – and this was her way of showing that she disapproved.

     To be fair, part of him had intended for her to see it and judging his successfulness by her prior, pyhsical response then it was rated fairly high.

     “Tchz,“ Freed emitted a huff, just loud enough for anybody near him to perceive. “Couldn’t be any more obvious, now could you.“ His gaze followed Kagura for a moment longer before he got back to his previous task.

     No, the ‘issues’ really were never something too serious, never something truly harmful… it would most likely be more accurate to say that it was both their challenging sides spurring one another on and it would be a statement filled with denial that those occasional clashes couldn’t be at least a little bit entertaining at times, depending on their nature.

      It was a low huff that managed to escape him upon witnessing Laxus’ attempt of a flirtatious approach. Moments before it had been dead silent in their bedroom, limbs not moving an inch as they had comfortable cuddled up in bed, ready for a hopefully peaceful slumber to take over.

      With his husband shifting and supporting himself on one elbow, orange gaze swerving to meet his own turquoise one Freed hadn’t been certain what to anticipate of this movement and change in posture but instinctively he had presented his man a tiny smile, lips just curving enough to be visible to the other’s eye. So the sudden query had surprised him… and here he was now, tiny smile turned into a chuckle.

     “Rich, romantic place? You know where I’m coming from,” he concluded, vox dropping a little in volume. And the memories weren’t the most pleasant ones. Respect and trust had built up between the two males unusually quick for men like them and still, it had taken a while until either of them had revealed the full story of their roots. It wasn’t worth talking about, merely bringing bad thoughts and memories to the surface, such he’d rather not be pondering on.

      A rich place he got born into indeed, but romantic? Not exactly… Although there was one fact that could be considered romantic, something connected to the famous city of love set on a different continent far away from Fiore. Being with Laxus, he just wanted to think of the GOOD things and it would be so incredibly easy to get lost in the intense gaze resting on him.

      For a moment it was as if time stood still; only the silence and the two of them and instinctively the captain lifted his right hand, having it appear from under the blanket, in order to brush his thumb across the dragon slayer’s left cheek gently. Chuckle transformed into a smile that held as much veracity as it held warmth for this one man and then he whispered. “Qu'est-ce que je ferais sans toi?”

It was only one or two times Freed’s features would distort a little. His scalp wasn’t all too sensitive and Laxus was being really gentle and careful with his hair as he always was but it was impossible to avoid brief moments of discomfort when annoying knots or movements occurred. It wasn’t unusual, with such long hair. The rune mage didn’t expect any special result to come out of it. He himself usually kept to his usual hair styles, feeling most comfortable with either a low pony tail, a high pony tail or a man bun, and he wouldn’t permit just anyone experiment with his hair like this either.

However, it was Laxus and if it was helping to relax his husband and keep him busy while he could just read then it was worth it. So when he noticed that the blond had finished his work he glanced back over his shoulder (they were sitting on their bed) in order to take a look in the mirror that was hanging on one of their wardrobes.

                                 “… I look silly.”

The impression these words could make only came to his mind after he had voiced this initial thought of his- and so he quickly let his turquoise gaze swerve to Laxus, lips already parting again.

                                “As in, it doesn’t… suit me. I admit I’m not entirely certain what kind of hair style you attempted to create-”

It looked like a mix of a few things, honestly. What was, again, kind of adorable in its own way.

                                “- but I am sure that you tried your best. Apart from the one or other unfortunate pull it was quite relaxing, though… so I wouldn’t mind letting you do this every once in a while, if you want to practice or if it’s just… relaxing. Like brushing my hair is for you.”

And Freed offered a tiny assuring smile. Hair could be a real tricky thing and it was already effort enough to brush his long green strands so styling them in certain ways was even more difficult and Laxus tried.
