To say that
Kagura and him didn’t get along would be a false assumption made due
to one single obversation. A layer of respect had been existent
between the two sword wielder for a long time and they had
successfully held mutliple conversations in the past – and it was
of importance to note that not every single one of those conversations had been ones an
impersonal basis, either. A lack of respect or even dislike was an inaccurate
word to describe the bond they shared.
There had merely always lingered
something around them that… repeatedly caused them to clash. The
ensuing issue was never something too serious and nothing that ever
created true harm to any of the two parties, however.
Just like right now.
Upon feeling the not so subtle touch when Kagura walked past
him, Freed sent a glare towards her he didn’t attempt to conceal. Not
like she was currently looking back to perceive it anyway, but it was
the natural expression his facial features got tugged into in an instant. The woman
must have noted his previous reaction to what she’d said – and in
his book this very reaction had been entirely justified – and this
was her way of showing that she disapproved.
To be fair, part of him
had intended for her to see it and judging his successfulness by her
prior, pyhsical response then it was rated fairly high.
“Tchz,“
Freed emitted a huff, just loud enough for anybody near him to
perceive. “Couldn’t be any more obvious, now could you.“ His gaze
followed Kagura for a moment longer before he got back to his
previous task.
No, the ‘issues’ really were never something too serious, never something truly harmful… it would most likely be more accurate to say that it was both their challenging sides spurring one another on and it would be a statement filled with denial that those occasional clashes couldn’t be at least a little bit entertaining at times, depending on their nature.

There was a reason why he had never discussed his past with anyone, even his teammates, he didn’t want them to know about the darkness and blood staining his hands…the reason why the nickname ‘the Dark’ was more appropriate than any of them knew. Back then death had been constant companion and he had never hesitated to kill, even when there was another way…a better way. He had hesitated this time, faltering as past and present had blended into one, but in the end killing had been just as easy as he remembered, and his voice was even as he straightened.

It was already suspicious enough that Laxus was handing him a letter that was decorated in such a manner (though even if it was kitschy and unexpected it was also kinda cute too, not going to lie). However, the dragon slayer was very very successful at concealing the actual message written inside.

Raising his brow just a little he stared at this one single word for a couple of heartbeat, then detached his gaze from the paper and fixed his turquoise eyes on his fiancé instead.
He didn’t know whether to laugh, to just be caught off guard or simply go with it. But after all he just nodded towards the guild’s doors, nudging the taller man to start leaving.
How very… creative.

Things the fandom likes to do/put Freed into but I absolutely disagree with and won’t ever happen on this blog
- lmao well first of all, call his team a fanclub or lackeys and I wouldn’t even have to say something because my muse will cut you anyway :’))
- ‘Laxus’ doesn’t need an Exceed, he has Freed and that’s almost the same!! :DD’. NO. Every time I see stuff related to this in the tag my and my muse’s mood just drop a little.
- making him overly clingy/emotional. nope, that’s so not him. you all should be glad that Freed shows a bit more emotion by now and looks happier overall (still, his smiles look more than smirks) and has someone like Laxus&Raijins who got him there. bc otherwise he would just be wearing his cold mask. Or more simple stuff like making him go all cry and emotional and scaredy cat with romantic or horror movie. Um. No sorry, don’t see this AT ALL.
- any sort of feminization, really. I just cannot see him being comfortable with wearing dresses or something like that, I just don’t. Not ever. I also hate it when he gets made/called ‘the waifu’ or stuff like that in any scenario ‘cuz unfortunately this does happen in some Fr.axus stuff. The only thing I can probably tolerate is Mom-friend because is is extremely caring and scolds and just y e a. But something else? Please… no…. Like y’know I can tolerate it if it’s a dare or something (in fact I had a thread once in which he wore a dress and high heels. it was amusing but my muse was very uncomfortable and pissed lmao) but otherwise it’s a no-no.
- no idea why the heck so many people do this but Freed is not some submissive doggy. He is a leader-type of guy and to me definitely naturally dominant. Don’t mistake his reserved attitude for submissiveness because I think this is exactly what happens a lot in this fandom (see also Rogue and Jelly for example).
- don’t know where this one even came from but Freed definitely doesn’t call Laxus ‘Laxus-sama’ or anything similar. ?????? wHY??? Just please no. Will never ever happen.
- this is a more personal one but I’m really not comfortable with m-preg. so there’s that. just… meh no.
- and this one is just a very smol detail actually lmfao but people still have shown to like making a big deal out of it so - the speedo did not happen. I have not a single clue why the animators changed it for in the manga chapter he did wear usual swimming shorts and I personally think that he would be more comfortable with them either way because that friggin speedo barely covers anything.
